Long term support for our Carousel 7 customers is important to us. We want to be sure you're taken care of.
Yes, your Carousel 7 software will continue to work just as it has for years.
We will continue to issue maintenance updates to resolve bugs and security concerns through the end of 2022. These releases will not include new feature updates.
No. The feature set that is present in Carousel 7 today will remain in place. Features will neither be added nor removed. Consider it like owning a car that runs reliably for years, regardless of whether next year's model is launched with new features. If you'd prefer to always have the latest and greatest features, we'd encourage you to consider Carousel Cloud. Contact us for details!
These are essentially "stages" in our multi-year end-of-life plan for Carousel 7. During the "EOL Announced" phase, we are not adding new features but will be maintaining the software and providing technical support. During the "EOSS" phase we will be ramping down software maintenance releases to critical issues only, while continuing to provide technical support. The "EOTS" phase is where software maintenance releases will no longer be issued, and technical support will be limited to our existing knowledge base only. In all cases, regardless of phase, we will be honoring active support plans until their expiration.
Current customers can continue to purchase expansions (new players) and software upgrades to the most recent version of Carousel 7 until 2023.
We strongly suggest looking into Carousel Cloud. If you're familiar with Carousel 7 you'll be right at home in Carousel Cloud. Plus, it allows our dedicated team of Carousel Experts to deliver all the latest Carousel features to you, while relieving your team from needing to maintain and update your own servers and IT infrastructure. As new versions of Windows are released, we evaluate them for applicability. And if it's determined to be necessary, we will issue maintenance updates to the Carousel software as needed until 2023. If you have a Cablecast system, you are likely running either Carousel 7.4 or CablecastCG. Carousel 7.4 is already at EOL status so it will be status quo for you. If you are still running Carousel at your TV station we would recommend upgrading to CablecastCG. Reach out the the Cablecast team at sales@cablecast.tv for more info!
We will stop selling licenses for NEW Carousel 7 systems starting January 1, 2021. If you have a customer who wants to process a purchase of Carousel 7 after this date you must register the deal.
Prior to December 31st, 2020, resellers must communicate via email which Carousel 7 deals they expect to close in 2021.
